Today I watched a film that I came across by mere chance. The title of this film was The King and the Clown. A Korean film about a group of traveling performers who mocked the ways of the King and his consort. This caused them to get into trouble with the Minister of the King. To save their selves they pleaded to preform before the king and if he laughed their lives would be spared, however, if the king did not laugh they would be killed.
The story developed from there revealing corruption in the king’s court and the jesters way of exposing this corruption. Also, there is within this story a aspect of love between two performers.
If you ever come across this film please watch it. I rate this film 5 stars for its quality, actors, and story line.
